Abstract
The article deals with figurally colored narration, i.e. with narratorial discourse that adopts salient features of the character’s text. The figural part is not signaled in any way. Unlike free indirect discourse, figurally colored narration does not refer to current acts of a character’s consciousness, but to typical, characteristic segments and features of the character’s text. The article examines the application and function of figurally colored narration in English, German and Russian texts.
